New Friends, New Memories - Today’s journal is from a kind-hearted young boy, Evan Brownback

My dad and I went to Cambodia. Which was my very first visit to the country. We went to learn more about the boys home and meet the kids there.

My dad and I on a meaningful trip to Cambodia

We did a lot of things including, riding bikes, playing soccer, building a tower made of noodles, drawing, and worship. It was a wonderful experience! I saw how many of the boys had to grow up in difficult environments. But they were so happy to see us!

I had a wonderful time with the boys here

I got to learn more about each boy's story and their life

Before the New Hope Home, most of the boys had to live on the streets. I was very sad when I heard about how many had to spend years on the streets for most without any family..

These are our dream pictures

I watched an interview of a kid named Moses and the story was pretty sad! While he was on the streets he got involved in a gang… they always walked up to fight the poor kid. :( Picture that being your life. That is why the home is so important with these kids.

Moses, a boy born into a difficult situation—I'm so glad I got to meet him

All of them, having similar experiences have a much better life than they did on the streets. That is why we fund this Home. So kids can recover from bad memories and make new, better ones.

I couldn’t believe how much fun I had with them! And a couple knew a lot of English! We had a lot of fun playing Uno too. I met all of the boys and they were all SO NICE! They gave us gifts and played with me! I liked them all immediately and was sad to go each day.

I will always keep these wonderful moments in my heart

Once we left, I was VERY sad. I ‘m going to miss those kids. I am going to go back in a year or two but still. I love being a part of the crossing church that funds homes like this. Thanks Giving It Back To Kids. Thank you for reading this.
